June 25, 2013 – Calgary, AB
With deep sadness, but peaceful hearts, we lovingly say goodbye to Lucy. Her beautiful spirit will be with us always.
She leaves behind her children, Michael, Cheryl (Karl-Heinz), Mark (Henrietta), grandsons Jason (Rita) and Jonathan (Kristy), and three very special great-grandchildren Dominic, Nathaniel, and Isabella. Lucy was predeceased by her son, John, in 1975, and her husband, Michael, in 2005. Mom’s best days were the ones spent in the company of family and friends. She loved to visit, share, and laugh. For many years her creativity flourished as she fashioned lovely craft and flower pieces for others. She inspired all of us to work hard, to use our gifts, and to care for others. Also missing her greatly will be her cousin Louise and husband Frank of Spokane, Pat and Don, and Ginny and Jim of Calgary. We say a very special thank you to them for their abundant love and friendship.
A celebration of Lucy’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lucy’s memory, to the Canadian Red Cross Relief Fund to assist those whose homes have been damaged by the recent Alberta Floods. We offer our deepest gratitude to the health care staff of Millrise Assisted Living, the South Health Campus, and the Continuing Care unit of the High River Hospital. All along the way these gracious, giving people helped Lucy, and all of us, to go forward with comfort and dignity and joy. Our very special thanks to Lucy’s physician, Dr. Matthew Ginzer. “In the end, only kindness matters.”
