The family of Dorothy Christina Geddes announces her peaceful passing after a lengthy stay at the Rockyview General Hospital, her loved ones by her side.
Born in Vancouver, Dorothy moved at an early age to Winnipeg, where she grew up. She and her husband Hap (Lloyd) Geddes met right after the war, married in 1946, and spent fifty-nine years together. Besides her husband, Dorothy leaves to mourn her son Clinton, wife Marilyn, and children Julian, Esther, Anna, and Sean; and her daughter Jennifer, husband Gregg, and children, Joel, Cathryn and Clare. She also leaves her sister Alison McNabb; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her three brothers.
Dorothy’s great joy was her family, to whom she was devoted. Her extended family and many good friends also meant so much to her. One of her great pleasures was sharing countless enjoyable hours playing bridge with the Happy Hearts – all good friends. Dorothy also was pleased to serve, for over twenty years, as a volunteer at the Rockyview General Hospital. Although we are saddened at this time, we hold many dear memories. Dorothy’s abiding faith strengthened and supported her throughout her life, and particularly, during the past months of increasing health challenges.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church (903 – 75th Avenue S.W.) on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. R.H. Grant Rodgers officiating.
