Condolence Messages

  1. Lovely Eileen Gatenby,
She was so very nice to me as a newcomer to the Oilmen’s many years ago. Both Bill and Eileen were very welcoming to us ‘fledglings’, in the company of oil industry giants.
She was an elegant ‘Tea Party’ guest (tea and finger sandwiches…not the political version) at my home on Lake Midnapore. Invitees were encouraged to wear hats and gloves and Eileen arrived in style. Eileen and a friend presented themselves at the party in full period dress regalia, complete with hat, gloves, crinolines and parasol. They were a hit! It was so lovely and just like her to be so sweetly engaging, I have never forgotten that generous gesture. Hold tight to the memories of your mother, I know I will.
