GARDNER, Shirley Jean

May 7, 1929 – January 15, 2013

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Shirley Jean Gardner on Tuesday, January 15th, 2013 at the age of 83 years.

Shirley is survived by her five children, Cheryl (Barry) Davidson, Debra Gardner, Rick Gardner, Jerry (Kim) Gardner, and Terry (Robin) Gardner.; her grandchildren, Michael, Samantha, Jeremy, Chantelle, Josh and Alyssa; her brother George (Jean) Waller; sister-in-law Dorothy (John) Barnes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her loving husband Richard Frank Gardner in October 1978.

A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hillcrest Extendicare and her physician Dr. U. Lauf for the care she received as well as their support to the family.

Shirley was a mother to me, we had lots of fun when she was at Wentworth and whenever I shared my problems to her, she was always there to give me some motherly advice. I will really miss her.
