  5. Richard Reynolds :

I’m very sad to hear of Mr Gaponow’s passing. I have fond memories of him. A very lovely man. I had rented a rental suite from him in the mid 80’s well into the mid 90’s on 15th street in a lovely little house. At the time I was looking for a nice place to live and happened across this nice house to live. Being a young lad without a job and hoping to make good in the world I said to Mr Gaponow “I don’t have a job but my Dad is goona help me pay my rent tell I am gainfully employed”. Now most people wouldn’t even consider you as a good renter but to Mr Gaponow’s credit he was happy to let me have the place. I can say I have such fond memoriesof living there and also Mr Gaponow giving me a call each month ” Hello Richard I would like to come over to collect the rent”. This has become an ongoing cute joke with me and my Dad cause John was so cute and nice. Me and Dad do Mr Gaponow impressions in a sincere nice way cause he was cool and we both liked the guy. As a matter of fact my Dad said when my parents were looking to buy a house in the mid 60’s they really wanted a Gaponow House because they were known to be so well built. Alas my Dad said they couldn’t afford to spend as much and had to settle for a house not of such high quality. I must say that I really appriciate John and hold him in very high regard. And have fond memories knowing him and he has my great respect. To his Loved ones my deepest condolences from myself and my Family. He was a Fine Man. May God Bless him.
    Regards, Richard Reynolds
