Joyce “Doreen” Gall, of Calgary, beloved wife and mother, passed away on October 23, 2014 at the age of 89 years.
Doreen was born in Drumheller Alberta, grew up in Morin Ab, later moving to Calgary, Edmonton and finally settling in Calgary. Before becoming a homemaker, she worked for Canadian Western Natural Gas (ATCO) where she met her husband and made long lasting friends. Known as the “Gasco girls” this group continued to meet monthly for coffee/lunch for over 40 years. She loved to cook for family and friends – well known for her buns and Christmas treats. Doreen loved her grandchildren and looked forward to having them over for lunch or off to the mall to find something they liked.
Doreen is survived by her children, Trent Gall (Tracy Applebee) and Sandra Sterling (Jim Thomas); and two grandchildren, Carter and Dawson Gall. She was predeceased by her loving husband Allan Kinghorn Gall; and brother Lloyd “Winston” Demille.
A Public Gathering will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North); on Friday, Nov 7, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. A Graveside Service to follow at Queen Park Cemetery.
