I met Eric when I cycled across BC 5 years ago. He opened his home to me and my girlfriend, and when I unexpectedly got sick and had to be taken to the Nelson hospital he drove me the whole way without complaint. (Though he did tease me the whole time that I had made him miss a Canucks playoff game on tv). He was a wonderful man and I am truly saddened by this news. My condolences and sympathies to all of his family.
