Anne Funfer passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the age of 91 years.
Anne was born in Slovakia and immigrated to Canada in 1927. Her passion was gardening and was an avid reader. Anne enjoyed traveling and cooking up a feast for her family. She was a sixty plus year member of the Catholic Women’s League.
Anne is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Margaret Funfer, Larry and Doreen Funfer and Dennis and Kathy Funfer; seven grandchildren, Paul, Scott, Jennifer (Aaron) Holmes, Laura, James, Erin (Chris) and Julie (Shawn); four great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Dezirae, Emily, and Amelia. She is also survived by a sister Binka Duchscherer; sisters-in-law Mary Galvon and Josie Galvon; numerous nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph Funfer; her parents Anna and Joseph Galvon; three brothers, Joseph, Martin and Fred Galvon; brother-in-law Frank Duchscherer and sister-in-law Gertie Galvon.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Paul’s Catholic Church (1305 Main Street Airdrie, Alberta) on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul’s Catholic Church (1305 Main Street Airdrie, Alberta) on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 10:30a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Airdrie Cemetery.
