Norma May Friesz, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the age of 64 years following a brief battle with pneumonia.
Norma was born in Trochu, AB and grew up on the family farm. Norma married Norm on July 28, 1972 and raised their three children in Calgary. She liked dancing, playing cards and board games. Norma was an avid fan of all sports and especially liked watching curling and her grandsons’ hockey. She enjoyed doing cross stitch, crossword puzzles, reading, camping and cruising. Her four grandsons and one granddaughter were priceless to her.
Norma is survived by her loving husband Norm; daughters and sons-in-law, Lana and Craig Stewart, Amber and Greg Abbott; son Rhett; five grandchildren, Garrett, Ewan, Bram, Griffin, and Ainslee.
A Celebration of Norma’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, March 2, 2009 at 2:30p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Norma survived her battle with cancer in 2007 with the help of the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
