Victoria married Ed, her husband of 56 years, in Beiseker. They lived in Calgary where they lovingly raised their five children. She was a dedicated volunteer at various agencies and was a member of St. Luke’s CWL for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, gardening, listening to music and taking delight in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives.

Victoria will be remembered for her infectious laugh, quick wit, delicious baking, her warm and welcoming nature, and for sharing many creative German expressions with friends and family.

Besides her loving husband, Victoria will be dearly missed by her children, Carol Dekkers, Larry and Debbie Frederick, Maureen Theberge, Dan and Leanne Frederick, Jim and Donna Frederick; her grandchildren, Corinne Dekkers, Alex Dekkers and Dene, Rebecca Frederick, Rochelle Theberge, Sam Frederick, Stephen Frederick, Jordan Theberge, Therese Frederick, Brad Theberge, Alyssa Frederick, and Sherilyn Theberge; her great-grandchildren, Bera and Kaia; her brothers and sisters, Alfred Hagel and Arlyne, Doreen and Lyle Needham, Norman and Wilma Hagel, Bernice and Al Farmer, David and Paulette Hagel, Teresa Dyck, Dennis and Chuckie Hagel; her sisters-in-law, Sr. Elsie Stitsen, Mary Breault and Rita Frederick; as well as numerous extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Louis Hagel; brothers-in-law, Norbert Frederick, Harvey Dyck, Roland Breault; and her sister-in-law, Ruby Hagel.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (Corner of Northmount Drive & Northland Drive N.W.) on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to The Lung Association, Alberta & NWT. We wish to express special thanks to the wonderful doctors, staff and volunteers at the Foothills Hospital Unit 81 for bringing such loving comfort and care to our entire family during Mom’s final days.
