August 15, 1917 – Great Crosby, Liverpool
July 17, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with much sadness we announce the passing of our dear Mum, Grandma and Great-grandma, Enid “Phyllis” Fraser on July 17, 2014 just a few weeks shy of her 97th birthday.
Phyllis was born in Great Crosby, Liverpool, England. She grew up in Southampton, England where she loved to spend time at the sea. During WWII, she met and later married Donald Fraser, a Canadian soldier. After the war, as a young war-bride, Phyllis took the long journey across the Atlantic and Canada to begin a new life in Shepard, Alberta, and eventually settling in Calgary, where she started her family. Phyllis loved her family so very much and devoted her life to them. The highlight of each year was a family road trip to the Oregon coast where she could be by the ocean. Phyllis was such a gentle and caring lady, who enjoyed the simple things in life and warm conversation. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary (Ron) and Cathy (Vince); her four grandchildren John (Bonnie), Christine (Will), Paul and Emily, and great-granddaughter Brook. Phyllis was predeceased by her dear husband Donald in 1984. The family would like to thank all her caregivers and friends who helped Phyllis to remain in her home until her passing.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church (903 – 75th Avenue S.W.) on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Rockyview Garden of Peace. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
