FOX, Candace Kimberley

FOX, Candace Kimberley (Kim)
(Watâga Wîya)
December 21, 1969 – Calgary, AB
July 29, 2014 – Morley, AB

With tremendous sadness but with fond memories we announce that Candace Kimberley Fox who was born December 21, 1969, passed away on July 29, 2014. May the Great Spirit shine his light upon her as she journeys to the Spirit World.

Kim was a precocious little girl who grew up to be a caring person. She received her initial education at Morley Community School, Exshaw School and Lebret Residential School. She later attended Nakoda College to upgrade her high school education to pursue her dream. In her childhood she would pretend to be a teacher holding her siblings hostage as students during the summer. In life she would pursue that dream graduating from the University of Calgary in 1995 with her Bachelor of Education degree. Most recently, she completed her Masters of Education degree from Gonzaga University. As an educator, she dedicated her life to her students and as a parent to her son, Mike.

“Kimpossible” dared to dream and pursued her passions. A thrill seeker at heart, she skydived once drawing the ire of her worried family. Bungee jumping and reverse bungee jumping was not enough either. She also jumped off the Stratosphere in Las Vegas. Kim lived life to the fullest and enjoyed travelling, most recently to Hawaii, where she and her husband golfed in an island paradise. Her favorite trip was their annual golf trip to Kamloops where she, Bruce and Mike golfed under the hot Kamloops sun.

Kim leaves to mourn and celebrate her life, her husband of 28 years, Bruce Snow and her dear mother, Tina Fox, sisters Glenna (Gerald), Mildred, Terry (Kim), Tammy (Tim) and Neisha (Shane) and brothers Lionel (Kimberly Pearl) and Trent as well beloved nieces and nephews. Also mourning her loss is her mother-in-law Clara Ruby Snow and her family as well as friends and relatives from the Fox, Poucette, Mark, Snow and Wildman families. She was predeceased by her father, Kent Fox in 1998, brother Moses Fox in 1986 and by her one and only child, Mike on the morning of her own passing.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Clara Ruby Snow (Morley, AB) on Saturday, August 2, 2014 and Sunday, August 3, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at Morley Gymnasium (Morley, AB) on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 1:00p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Wesley Cemetery (Morley, AB). Forward condolences through

  3. Donna Hogeland :

Dear Tina and Family: I was deeply saddened to learn of Kim’s passing, and also that of her son Michael. My sincere thoughts and prayers are for all of you, as you slowly begin to comprehend and eventually come to accept these profound losses in your lives. Kim was a very friendly individual, who always had a big smile on her face when she greeted you. During the 1990s, Kim’s personal initiative to advance her post-secondary education at the University of Calgary was one of the factors that motivated me and my late husband, Peter Wesley, to do the same. She will be missed. May each memory of Kim feel like a small patch of sunlight: warming your days, soothing your hearts, and giving you peace. ~ Kindest personal regards, Donna

  7. Ernestine Saulteaux :

Kim was one of my best friends and we attended the U of C together. We graduated together and we remained friends to the very end. When I left the Morley gym after the funeral service I cried and listened to Dani and Lizzy’s song “Dancing in the Sky”. This song will remain close to my heart and Kim’s memory will also remain precious in my mind, heart and soul. My condolences to her mother Tina and her loved ones.
