  2. Marian Burke and Family :

    Dear Ida, Victor and Lina and families:

    It was with great sadness that we read of Pete’s passing. It brought back many memories of what wonderful neighbours you all were when you lived in Briar Hill.
    **the day Ida taught me to make what my kids still call ‘the best lasagna in the world’ in my own kitchen;
    **my daughter, Diane, baby-sitting at your house and coming home, arms loaded with tasty baking and other food;
    **bringing home Lina with the twins from the hospital;
    **Christmas turkey buffet at your house for the staff of Victor and Joanna’s business.
    But most especially, aside from Pete, Ida and family’s great friendship, were the fishing trips Pete and my husband, Ron, made down to the Bow River. Pete would sit beside Ron, pulling in fish after fish, with Ron not even getting a bite. Being such a kind and generous person, Pete would change places with Ron, even exchanging fishing rods and bait and–guess what–Pete continued to haul in fish while Ron sat there empty handed.
    And, finally, whenever I picture Pete I see a wonderful, smiling face, and open heart.
    I am certain you will all miss him greatly. You are all in our prayers.

    Marian Burke
