Corkie Foote, beloved wife of Marv Foote, passed away in Calgary on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the age of 83 years.
In addition to Marv, she is dearly missed by son Brydon and girlfriend Catherine and his daughter Tamila of Calgary, and daughter Sheri and husband Lee of Denver; younger sisters Norma and husband Austin Youngberg of Kelowna, and Gloria Cott and partner Jim Bishop of Chemainus, BC; niece Laura Youngberg and partner Jon Deets and her daughters Alex and Annelise of Calgary, niece Jane Youngberg and husband David Miller and their sons Jules and Anton of Kelowna; niece Anna Cott and husband Marcin Koslicki and their son Eric of Edinburgh, Scotland, niece Erin Cott of Edmonton and a whole lot of family in Denmark. Corkie was predeceased by her older brother Lars Pedersen of Vancouver.
Corkie spent time curling, walking, playing golf, playing with her 5-year-old granddaughter, and trying to keep up with the numerous requests for her fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies. She dedicated herself to numerous causes over the years. Those closest to her heart were the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (including volunteering with the Tom Baker Cancer Centre), Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Thank you to the staff on Unit 91 of the Foothills Hospital and all the staff at the Southwood Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to The Tom Baker Cancer Centre/Alberta Cancer Foundation (albertacancer.ca) of Calgary or the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (cbcf.org).
