FLOYD, Eunice Beresford Goodwin
April 27, 1928 – January 6, 2015
We gathered around her many times for short visits and long hours especially over the last month. Tuesday January 6 at 9:30pm, Life fulfilling itself in her, shortly after her sister came to see her and surrounded by the love of family, she made a final exhale. Many people across North America and right here at home prayed for her gathering in and we are thankful for their village of support.
Originally born in Whitstable, England during a family vacation; Eunice grew up in Inglewood, Calgary where she met and married William Thomas Floyd. After living in Ontario for many years she returned to Calgary, living in the same home for over 40 years. She had been a homemaker, a mother (to many), a grandmother, a great-grandmother, a Woodward’s snack shop diva, a waitress, and a traveller.
We remember her winks, delicate skin, straight talk, family dinners of ham, scalloped potatoes and roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, nuts n’bolts, knitted sweaters, sharing her home and her Delta 88. Eunice’s life has been full of adventure, heartache, resilience, love, and longevity. Eunice, Mom, Aunty, Grandma, GG, may you be gathered in and know that you are not alone and never have been. We are blessed by your way of going out from among us. We Love You and will Remember Always.
Eunice is survived by her sons Rick (Arlene), Tim (Cindy), Matt (Maureen); step-daughter Jan (Gerry); grandchildren Deirdre (Bill), Karen, Ian (Jo), Stephanie, Shayne, Samantha, Lisa; great-grandchildren Kayla, Matthew, Rachel, Marco, Fynn, Kai, Hudson; great-great-grandchild Cora Louise; siblings Kathleen and Ken (Lil); as well as Alice and family, Derek, Michael, Kelly and their families, Angela, Marco and Femke; also many cousins, nieces and friends from coast to coast and in England. She is predeceased by her parents Owen and Kate; her young son Shayne Owen; husband William; step-son Bill; and most recently her daughter Sandy and brother George.
