  12. I will remember Larry as a mentor and friend. I had the pleasure of working with Larry for many years while he was the District 1 Court Review Officer. He helped me to become a better investigator by being very critical of my reports and providing me with guidance. When I didn’t get a memo from Larry, it was a good thing. I used to bump into Larry in the hallways of District 1 at the craziest of hours as he often chose to do his work at the wee hours of the morning so that he could have the day to himself. Larry’s illness came as a complete surprise to me and I had prayed he would recover. Larry was a good man and he will be truly missed. Rest in peace my friend.

  14. It’s with my deepest sympathy that I’m sending this condolence. I’ll share a small story of how I came to know Larry with you in hopes that it offers some comfort & fond memories of Larry. I first met Larry while working in District 1 when I first started with the CPS in 1998. Not long after I contacted Larry to seek his assitance with the construction & development of my basement in the first house I ever purchased. I’d been told that Larry was amazingly talented with renovations & being a brother officer, I knew I could trust him. Larry was more than happy to take on the project. In doing so, he offered me the option to help him with the renovation & learn some skills that I otherwise would have never had the opportunity to learn. This proved to be life changing for me. I discovered through this process, a new love, hobby & therapuetic pass time. Since finishing that basement with Larry, I’ve moved on to renovate several houses & basements that I have owned over the years. I am forever greatful for the patience that Larry had with me & the skills he taught me. He was a masterful teacher & is the sole reason I was able to discover something I love to do so much with my spare time. I hold very fond memories of Larry & hope that you find some comfort in this time of grief with the support of others like myself who’s lives Larry touched. Sincerely, Cst. Travis Waddell #3322.

  17. You were truly one of a kind. You marched to the beat of your own drummer. It was a pleasure dealing with you while I was prisoner security at arrest processing , knowing everytime you brought someone in, things were not going to be dull. Playing golf with you was always interesting, not just because you were true to the game(STROKE AND DISTANCE YA CHEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), sorry that was usually directed at Mike H, but also because you chose great courses to play. Thanks for teaching me the ways of deck building.

    You will be missed.
