Vilma beloved wife of the late Raymond Martin Flaig of Calgary, AB, passed away on April 14, 2017 at the AgeCare Walden Heights Senior’s Community at the age of 89 years.
Vilma was born in Lethbridge Alberta, the first child of Clifford Ott and Ruby Ingram. At the age of 18 she moved to Calgary where she met Ray Flaig to whom she was happily married for 68 years. They shared a wonderful life in Calgary and Edmonton. Vilma held many jobs over the years including working as a library assistant for the Calgary Public School Board. She was always happy to entertain family and friends with wonderful meals at home or at their ski chalet at Panorama. Vilma was a proud mother and grandmother. She enjoyed travelling and shared many trips with family and friends.
Vilma will be missed by her loving sons, Douglas (Helen Timmons) and Myles (Gina) of Calgary, her grandchildren Ian (Jillian Gora) of Toronto, Elliot, Alessia, and Declan. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Lorayne Bruckner, and by other family members Trudy Steber (George), Verl Ott, Imajean Ott-Nystrom, and Deeidra Ott. Vilma was predeceased by her son Gordon and her husband Ray.
The family would like to thank the wonderful care givers at the AgeCare Walden Heights Senior’s Communit as well as Dr. Mankaeva for the loving attention given to Vilma.
A celebration of Vilma’s life will be held at the McKENZIE TOWNE HALL (40 McKenzie Towne Boulevard S.E., Calgary, AB, on *traffic circle*) on Saturday, May 20, 2017 starting at 1:15 pm with presentations at 2:00 pm. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
