January 18, 1929 – Medicine Hat, Alberta
February 18, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta
Leonard Flaig, beloved husband of Verna Flaig (nee Leischner) of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the age of 86 years to be with his Lord and Saviour.
Len was a man who worked hard and took pride in that work. He loved to spend time in his garden, keeping his lawn mowed, helping his kids with their yards and playing with his grandkids. Though we will miss Dad, we know he is with Jesus – whole, and of sound mind. His battle with Alzheimer’s is over and we look forward to seeing him again.
Len is survived by his wife of forty-nine years Verna; his daughter and son-in-law Fern and Will; his son Darcy; and daughter-in-law Angela; and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Kaitee, Joshua, Brett, Ethan, Karly, Mitchell, Emily-Joy, and Cory. Len is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Doris and Ben Hirsch; and sister-in-law Emma Flaig. He will also be missed by numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and the staff at Clifton Manor, his home for the last 8 ½ years. Len was predeceased by his son David, brother Ken and his parents.
“For everything there is a season,
And a time for everything under heaven …
A time to weep, and a time to laugh,
A time to mourn, and a time to dance …”
