Fisher, Margo Louise

Margo Louise Fisher, beloved wife of Mel Fisher of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at the age of 66 years. Margo was born in Montreal, PQ on March 22, 1942. Mel and Margo were married in Montreal in September 1960. The family moved to Winnipeg, MB in 1970 when Mel was transferred to manage the Western division of a national company. They spent nine years in Winnipeg prior to relocating to Calgary in 1980. While living in Winnipeg, Margo became an Equestrian Dressage, Equitation and Hunter Champion. After the move to Calgary, she became a corporate computer instructor and avid and competitive tennis player. Margo loved the outdoors and nature, camping hiking, biking, along with her newly found passion for nature photography. She became a professional in that field with many award-winning photographs. As a member of Oakpark Church of Christ, Margo loved her prayer group and helped the church in many ways, including “Inn from the Cold.” Besides her loving husband Mel, Margo is survived by her son David in California and daughter Ann in Medicine Hat. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Norma and Ray O’Collin in Cornwall, ON; and sister-in-law Jennie LeBrocq in Edmonton. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, October 20, 2008 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. A Celebration of Margo’s Life will be held at Oak Park Church Of Christ (11263 Oakfield Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Rd.
