FISH, Jordan Tyler

February 25, 1994 – January 4, 2015

Jordan Fish was taken from us suddenly on Sunday, January 4, 2015, at the age of 20 years.

Left to mourn his loss are his loving parents, Selby and Della Fish; his brother Parker Fish; and his sister Emily Fish; as well as his grandparents, George Fish, Irene MacDonald, and Cae Parry; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his Grandpa, Donald MacDonald, who will be there to greet him in heaven.

Jordan was born in Regina, SK in 1994 where he lived for a short period of time until the family moved to the farm in Ogema, SK in 1995. Then in 1998 the move was made to Calgary, AB where he has resided ever since.

Jordan attended Brentwood Elementary School, Colonel Macleod Middle School, and graduated from Crescent Heights High School in 2012. He then attended SAIT where he graduated in May 2014 with his Power Engineering Technology Diploma and 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate. He was employed by Agrium in Carseland where he was looking forward to progressing through the units and working towards obtaining his 2nd Class Power Engineering Certificate.

While attending SAIT, he joined the Cross Country Running Team and Track Team. In his second year he was co-captain, and was fortunate to go to Nationals in Toronto with the team. He enjoyed playing hockey from the age of 5 through 18 with Symons Valley Hockey, and then carried on to play in a competitive rec league alongside his Dad and his brother Parker. He also enjoyed camping with his friends, skiing and playing guitar.

Family was important to Jordan, from mentoring his sister in her athletic and academic endeavours, to reminiscing with his Grandparents. He went out of his way to lend a helping hand, not only to his immediate family, but extended as well. He also had a deep bond with his dog, Chase, who became the subject of many of his school assignments. He always made family functions more enjoyable with his jokes and good humour.

Jordan was an ambitious young man with many dreams and plans for the future. He had a quick wit and a smile that would light up the room. Everything Jordan did, he did with a passion and to the best of his ability, making new friends along the way, while maintaining an extraordinary bond with his childhood friends.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Jordan’s honour may be made directly to KidSport Canada – Alberta, Box 36107, Lakeview RPO, Calgary, AB T3E 7C6 Telephone: 1-(888) 91-4kids or (403) 217-3761, www.kidsportcanada.ca.

In living memory of Jordan Fish, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH, Telephone: 403-276-2296.

    Dear Family of Jordan Fish,

My name is Michelle Manary. I went to Brentwood elementary with Jordan (was in the same grade) & then went to the same high school . I am so so sorry to hear about Jordan’s passing away. I can’t stop thinking about the loss your family has encountered. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Ever since Elementary I always thought very highly of Jordan, he was an above average young man. We are thankful for the comfort we can find in the one that our lives hands are in.

I really want to be at the funeral Saturday but unfortunately can’t make it so I just wanted to send this note . Words really can’t express how much I am thinking and feeling sorrowful for your family.

I hope through this impossibly hard time you can find comfort in a greater power.

    Sincerely Michelle.

  43. Fish Family…we are still in complete shock & trying to come to terms with Jordan’s passing. Easton and Jordan were close friends and had spent a lot of time together since they graduated from high school. They were part of a very close-knit group of friends that truly got along and had each other’s backs. Jordan has left a very big hole in their group that will be impossible to fill. Please know that we’re thinking of you and that we know that Easton was a very lucky young man to have been able to call Jordan his friend for the last 13 years. He is missed greatly…XOXO.

It is with a heavy heart that I pass on our families condolences to all of you at the loss of Jordan. Chayce and I only spent the one year with Simons Valley minor hockey. Chayce as a player and myself getting the privilege to coach Jordan. I honestly can’t stop thinking about how much of a gentleman he was and how he always seemed to have a smile on his face. Having had the chance to coach young men for a number of years there are always people that leave an indelible impression on you, the ones you never seem to forget. Jordan was one of those young men. He was a wonderful, polite and classy young man and he truly was taken from us far too soon. Both my son and I have been privileged to say we knew him and he left a mark on all of us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you at this time of terrible loss. Please know we are with you during this difficult and painful time
