Dennis and I spent the summer of 1967 taking the census of Sacred Heart Parish. We walked door to door throughout all the neighborhoods from 8th Street to 24th Street and the Bow River to 37Avenue S.W. Dennis was a wonderful human being who loved people and delighted in the eccentricities that make each person unique. I will always cherish his wit and wisdom. He was an inspiration to me and all his friends.

  5. My deepest sympathies are offered at the passing of Dennis. I was fortunate to have been a teacher at St. Thomas More School when Dennis was principal. He was a supportive and caring mentor. It was with great pleasure that I was assigned principal of St. Thomas More and Dennis came to some of our celebrations.

I am currently in Northern Ontario so will not be able to attend the funeral; but, my thoughts and prayers are with all of Dennis` family and especially with you, Jim.

  7. Del and Rosemarie Hack :

Both of us were both shocked and saddened at the news of Dennis’ passing. We remember him fondly, Del, as a fellow administrator and Rosemarie, as a colleague at St. Vincent de Paul School. It seems not all that long ago, we met at some function and found it fun to take a “trip down Memory Lane” , recalling some zany happenings when we taught together at St. V. de P.
That was when we were MUCH younger. I remember Dennis saying,” We were a bit crazy in those days, right?”
Anyway, we want you to know that you’re in our thoughts and prayers. Let all the good times dominate your thoughts.

  11. Lois ( Grainger) Chibry :

Dear Fandall Family, I was so sorry to read about Dennis’ passing. I have such happy memories of our time together while working at the downtown Library durning our high school years. We were known as Dennis’ harem!! How well we worked together and how much we learned from him, and how much fun we had. On more than one occasion I remember Miss Marshal come into the back room where we worked and in a sharp voice said ” Keep it down ! There will be no laughter here… This IS a Library”. As soon as she left we laughed so hard { quietly of course } Dennis was never short with us, and well he deserved to be some times, but was always kind, joyful and ALWAYS competent. I am afraid we might have been a bad influence on him, on occasion, but he seemed to take it well. I only regret that I have not seen him for awhile and I so would have liked to reminisce with him. There is so much to look forward to in heaven. There we can see the people who meant a lot to us and say thank you for being you, and bringing so much into our lives. This I will do one day with Dennis. He was a special friend to me and I will always appreciate his place in my life. May many happy memories surround you as you grieve the loss of one so special. God is Good. May His love be your comfort. Lois { Grainger} Chibry

Dennis and I were best of friends while I lived in Calgary from 1980-1991, he was actually my best friend, we shared so many moments together, good times, bad times, travels, my best buddy and he brought me such good support on almost a daily basis hanging out together that I am so grateful for and due to different circumstances we lost contact when I moved to Montreal. I am under total shock and sadness. He will be remembered forever in my thoughts and prayers.
I will spend some time in church tomorrow and burn a candle and pray for him during his funeral celebrations. I want to express my sincere condolences to all his immediate family and close friends! May GOD grant us all the strength and courage we will need to go on without him! He will be remembered and missed forever!

So shocked and saddened to hear today of the sudden passing of Dennis. Dennis was the first principal I worked for as a young, inexperienced teacher, and he truly was a supportive, caring mentor.
