Sarabeth Evans passed away on Monday, June 30, 2008 at the age of 90 years.
Born Sarah Elizabeth Meason in Terrell, Texas, on April 28, 1918. Sarabeth was the loving wife of Paul Charles Evans who died in July 2001.
Born, raised and educated in Texas, she studied at Southern Methodist University and married Paul Charles in 1938. They moved to Canada in 1949, spending a year in Edmonton and the remainder of their lives in Calgary. They took Canadian citizenship the year that Canada adopted the Maple Leaf flag. Sarabeth is remembered as a kind, generous and gracious woman, devoted to her family, a superb cook and emissary of southern cuisine. Her extended family and friends recently gathered to celebrate her ninetieth birthday.
Sarabeth is survived by her three children, Jack Evans of Calgary, Paul Evans of Vancouver and Sally Rogers of Mississauga, as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
