Ed, beloved husband of Elsbeth Erdmann, father of Anita, of Calgary, AB, passed away in his sleep at home on Monday, September 24, 2012 at the age of 90 years.
Ed was born in Tarutino, Bessarabia on February 14, 1922. He met Elsbeth while they were still in Germany. He immigrated to Canada settling in Calgary in 1951, Elsbeth followed in 1952 and they were married on August 9th. They were blessed to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this August.
Ed enjoyed working hard and after his retirement from Steel Manufacturing he was often found walking his German Shepherds on Nose Hill Park or around his neighbourhood.
Ed’s passion was his roses and gardening. People often stopped in front of the house and admired his roses.
Ed will be dearly missed by his loving wife Elsbeth and by his daughter Anita. He will be remembered by his sister Ella Seip, niece Brigitta (Rick) McDonald. Ed was predeceased by his parents and his brother-in-law Frank.
Memorial Services will be held at St Matthew Lutheran Church (66 – 7TH STREET N.E.), on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens (Garden of Everlasting Life).
