September 3, 1918 – July 28, 2012
Anna passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 93 years of age at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice. Anna was raised in Hilda, Alberta, then moved to Medicine Hat and has lived in Calgary since 1975.
Anna was predeceased by her first husband Benjamin Lust, and two daughters Arlene Briosi and Janice Walsh, as well as her second husband Rodney Edgecombe. Anna’s strong faith enabled her to cope with the loss of family members during her life, and prepared and comforted her for the way ahead.
Anna is survived by her grandchildren Colin Briosi of Victoria, and Lisa (Peter) Chartrand of Medicine Hat, Patricia (Bart) Onyszko and Kathleen (Stan) Ross of Calgary, and four great-grandchildren, Kayla and Jessica Chartrand, and Tristan and Kieran Onyszko. In addition, Anna is survived by sons-in-law Dan (Maureen) Walsh and Gordon Briosi, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Medicine Hat and extended family including Rodney’s children and the Newman family members.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church (1311 – 4th Street S.W.) on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. In addition, a family grave side ceremony will take place in Hillside Cemetery in Medicine Hat at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would be most grateful for donations in Anna’s name to the First Baptist Church of Calgary, Alberta Foundation.
