October 11, 1942 – Moose Jaw, SK
July 4, 2014 – Calgary, AB
We are sad to announce the passing of Walter Edgar at Foothills Medical Centre on Friday, July 4, 2014, after his loss to a four year battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Walter was born and raised in Moose Jaw, SK and obtained his electrical engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan. He spent the majority of his working career as a consultant in the area of electrical computerized controls for the oil and gas industry as well as other commercial enterprises, most notably the brewing industry. He inherited his love of trains from his grandfather and collected railway artifacts, books and pictures. He spent many happy hours camping in his motor home, usually stopping near a small golf course to play a few holes.
Walter is survived by his sister Donna (Don) Maxwell and his nephews Darrin and Duncan (Spyder) Maxwell, as well as several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Lillian and A.S. (Bill) Edgar of Moose Jaw.
Walt bore the limitations imposed on him by his IPF with dignity and grace, rarely complaining and always trying to present a positive outlook.
