EARLE, Julliette (Julie)

May 3, 1930 – April 4, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mother and grandma Julie Earle.

Julie grew up in Tomahawk and Fallis, AB. She met and then later married Bruce Earle December 5, 1949. They resided in Edmonton until 1968 before moving to Calgary. Julie and Bruce started Canuck Amusements in 1976. She was an integral part of the business, and was active until her passing. Julie will be missed by many of her customers and staff.

Julie is survived by her children, Dan (Julie), Heather (Gerry) Knight, Doug (Sandi), and David (Lisa); her grandchildren, Ryan, Dean, Shelby, Logan, Cameron, and Delaney; brothers, Henry Wilkie and Hugh Wilkie; sister Lou Earle; sister-in-law Burniece Wyness; brother-in-law Lloyd Earl; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bruce, her brother Robert Wilkie, sister-in-law Vicki Earle and brother-in-law Art Earle.

Julie was considered by many as a second mom. Her devotion to her family and friends was unequaled. She will be greatly missed for her guidance, strength and her strong sense of family that she so proudly gave us. She will be remembered always.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Monday April 9, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

  5. Elizabeth Hamilton :

I knew Julie as an independent, strong-willed, incredibly capable woman, who cared passionately about her family, her work and her friends. Even before I met Julie, my own grandmother would speak glowingly about her and Bruce and the wonderful business they ran (she loved bingo!). I was lucky enough to be a part of the Earle family for a few years and they are truly my second family. I love them all, they have been an integral part of my life and my heart breaks for them during this incredibly difficult time. I will never forget my time at Canuck’s and the honour of working with Julie. Julie, thank you for opening up your life and your family to me, for taking care of Smokey and loving him like I couldn’t and for teaching me how to package a box so that nothing would budge during shipping!

  9. I am so sorry for the passing of your beloved Mother. It was a surprise as she and Heather attended Steve’s Memorial Service in Nov. That was so kind of them to come.. I Remember her when you all lived in Calder, Edmonton, on our Street, a nice neighbor to have. Its hard losing a mother.
My deepest sympathy to your family.
    Many blessings.
