(Ade) Billy Ear-Dixon was called home by our Creator on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the age of 78 years.
Billy came to Morley in 1945 from the Eden Valley to live with relatives and got his education at the Morley residential school. He had a strong belief in our traditional culture and values and was a pipe holder. Isaiah taught Billy all about farming and ranching at a young age. In his early years he had a passion for various sports including rodeo. He participated at the Banff Indian Days Rodeo and was a one time rodeo champion in bareback riding. He was also involved in various outdoor activities. Billy always kept himself occupied by working in different occupations like the saw mills in Morley and the Bragg Creek area. He was also a ranch hand for Clem Gardner.
Billy is survived by his wife Doris Dixon; his daughters Charlene (Ferlin) and Melrose (McFarland); his 20 grandchildren; his 30 great-grandchildren; his sister Jennifer (Roderick); his brother Roy; adopted mother Tina; aunties Georgie, Violet, Irene, Maxine and Carol; uncle Stanford (Vera).
Billy was predeceased by his mother Annie; adopted parents Isaiah Rider and Sarah Ear; mother of his children Alice Stephens; his son Danny; his grandsons Laurel and George; great-granddaughter Angel; his sisters Rhonda, Mary-Jane and Rose; his brother Alfred; Adopted mother Elise Holloway.
Billy was a part of many extended families; Dixon, Lefthand, Ear, Rider, Stephens, Amos, House, Big Stoney, Ceicl and Wildman. We apologise if we have missed anyone.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Lisa Stephens and Jeremy Kaquitts (Morley, AB) on Saturday, June 14 and Sunday, June 15, 2014.
Funeral Services will be held at Morley United Church (Morley, AB) on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Bearspaw Cemetery. A traditional Feast is to follow. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
