January 14, 1928 – April 9, 2012
Sheela Kathleen Dwyer (nee Howard) passed away peacefully in Calgary on April 9, 2012 with her children at her side.
Beloved wife of the late James Patrick Dwyer and much loved mother of Kathleen de Haas, Elizabeth Mitchell (Philip), and Jim Dwyer (Michelle). Sheela was also the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren and much loved sister of Terry Howard (Carol) of Ottawa. She was predeceased by her parents, James A. (1966) and Phyllis K. (1964) Howard of Eganville and sister Joyce Howard (1977).
Sheela was born in Ottawa, raised in Eganville, lived in Quebec City, Toronto, Burlington, and finally Calgary. Her favorite places may well have been family cottages on Golden Lake and later the Otonabee River where she spent time canoeing and creating life long memories for her family.
A graduate of the University of Ottawa, Sheela taught High School English. Later she contributed years of volunteer hours to Information Burlington working with computers long before anyone else in her family. Sheela will be remembered for her smiles, sense of humour, and her quiet dignity which she shared with everyone right to the end of her life.
Please join in a celebration of Sheela’s life at her son’s home in Burlington (1901 Kerns Rd.) on Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church in Eganville, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
