  12. I am Paul’s sister and I just want to thank all those who are posting condolences. In particular, it’s nice to see messages from Paul’s students. While we have lots of great childhood memories, Paul spent much of his adult life away from his hometown in New Brunswick. Much of that time was spent in Alberta where his kids were born. He was one of us seven. We will miss him.

  15. Bob Arthurs :

It is with great sadness I learned of the passing of my friend, colleague and mentor Paul Duthie. Paul and I taught together at Forest Lawn and had a splendid rapport together. I always admired his dedication towards his students and the seriousness he showed about the ‘primacy of the student’. We often referred to each other as ‘brothers from different mothers’ which often confused the students. Many time I had to confirm this with students often assuring them that mom did not have any difficulty telling us apart since he was always the bigger one. Gone but will never be forgotten. Rest well my friend.

  16. Mr.Duthie was a very caring person, a week before his passing he worked on my little car and made it safe for my family. I am beyond grateful for his time and knowledge.
He also explained to me that my car would never be quiet, even with the new muffler, and it would take too long to explain why.
I trusted him completely with his shortened explanation and spent my time listening to the interesting noises it makes, trusting his words.
I am grateful that our paths have crossed and my families quality of life had been improved, by his kindness and generosity.
