November 30, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta
Bill Dustan of Calgary, AB, passed away on November 30, 2014 at the age of 87 years.
Bill was born in Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba on July 31, 1927. He trained with the Air Force just as WW II ended and moved with his family to Calgary shortly after the war. He felt a strong connection to the Royal Canadian Legion and liked to visit the 264 Branch. Originally a mechanic, Bill spent many years in car sales. He was often top salesperson of the month and had a loyal following that would move with him from dealership to dealership. He married Marie Spankie in 1958, and they later had two children. He always enjoyed spending time with family and his many friends. In his earlier years, he would spend free time snowmobiling or attending Stampeder games. In retirement, Bill and Marie were able to make a couple of overseas trips with friends. Bill was always appreciated for his gentle nature.
Bill is survived by his children, Neil Dustan (Darrell Taylor) and Kathy Cassin, and his grandchildren Brittany Taylor, Laura and Pauline Dustan and Teagan Cassin all of Calgary. Bill is also survived by his sister Ella Steemson of Vancouver. He was predeceased by his wife Marie (nee Spankie), son-in-law Tim Cassin, brother Ronald, and sister Molly Griffiths.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at a later date. Please forward Inquiries and Condolences to McInnis & Holloway Funeral Home.
