Lorraine passed away peacefully at the Mayfair Care Centre on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the age of 86. She was born on January 15th, 1927 in Wynyard, Saskatchewan to Louis and Florie Magnusson, the first of six children. She attended East Lynn School and at age sixteen obtained employment as a telephone operator in Wynyard. In 1950 she married Woodrow Sigurdson. They later moved to Regina where she worked for Sask. Telephones. After their divorce she moved to Calgary and worked for AGT until her retirement.
She was predeceased by her parents, her second husband Bill, sister and brother-in-law, Norma (Bill) Hermiston, sister and brother-in law, Mildred (Bill) Schauerte and sister-in-law Marge Magnusson.
She leaves to mourn her passing two brothers, Glenn Magnusson, Mississauga, Elswood (Denise) Duck Lake, Sask., sister, Carol Agnew, Calgary and sister-in law Jean (Ivan), Burtts Corner, N.B. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
A Graveside service will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery (3219 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary) on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. Those wishing to attend may meet at the front gates.
