Robert James Dunn passed away peacefully on Monday, September 10, 2012 at the age of 85 years surrounded by his loved ones.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Bob will be fondly remembered by his children, Mary Lynn, Jim (Jane) and Patt (Craig); grandchildren, Molly (Chris), Jeffrey and David and two great-grandchildren, Bradley and Madelyn.

Bob was born in Saskatoon and spent his youth living in Saskatchewan and the Okanagan and eventually married his wife Evelyn (Lynn) in Vancouver and they enjoyed sixty-three years together until she passed away in February of 2011. Condolence Messages

  1. Jim and Jane, I was so surprised to read of Bob’s death as he always appeared so well and very positive when I had my lunch dates with him when he was in calgary. He seemed to have changed little since my husband and I were good friends 20-30 years with your parents. He always talked about how wonderful you both were to him he certainly appreciated you concern for him. So now after a very full life he has joined Lynn over the other side, I know she would be waiting for him
    Yours sincerly,
    Linda Mcgregor

We are very sad to hear of Bob’s passing. For many years, he was a marshall at Predator Ridge and we would enjoy his jokes when play was slow! He was a great character and we miss him.

    Yours sincerely,

    Barrie and Alison Wheeler

  5. When I first met Bob he had a glass of wine in his hand and gave me a sincere welcome to the neighbourhood with a big hug. Last New Years he joined me and many friends at #4 for eats, drinks and fun. He was a welcome guest, known by most he visited with everyone. He was one of the nicest people I have known, and I will miss our visits at the mailboxes. He was a lost soul since Lynn passed, and now he has his wish and is once again with her. My thoughts are with all of you.

  8. Hello Mary Lynn, Jim and Patt and families,
I do not get delivery of the local paper anymore at my home. So, late in each month I try to read the obituary notices. I am shocked and saddened tonight to read of your Dad’s passing.
I just had to write to you. Your Mom and Dad were great clients of mine. I was over to their home a few times over the years, sometimes for a visit. Sometimes to do an evaluation. They were always in trying to decide if they wanted to move to Alberta or stay in Vernon. The last time I was at their home, your Dad proudly showed me his garden tribute to your Mom. They would often come to my annual client appreciation cocktail party. I considered them not just to be clients, but friends. I will really miss them, as will many others in Vernon, especially in the golfing community.
You know, some people just make you happy to be in their company and I will remember them both in that way.
I extend my sincere sympathies to all of you.
    Jane Field
