DOROMAL, Maria Teresa (nee Pinto)

October 8, 2014 – Calgary, AB

Maria Teresa Doromal beloved wife of Roberto of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the age of 60 years.

Maria Teresa received her bachelor degree in general studies from Simon Fraser University in B.C. She immigrated to Canada from Indonesia in April of 1979 and lived in Port Coquitlam, BC until 1998 at which point she relocated to Calgary. She married the love of her life Roberto on May 1, 1975. Maria Teresa started as a copy typist with Canadian Pacific Railway in August of 1980 and retired as a tax finance specialist on March 1, 2013. She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and was an active member of Couples for Christ. She was a participant of “Living with Cancer” Hospice Care and a member of Sunflower Tom Baker Cancer Center Psychosocial Group.

Besides her loving husband Roberto, Maria Teresa is survived by her sons Roberto Jr. and Andrew; brothers, Eliezer Pinto Jr., Ricardo Pinto, Josefino Pinto, Benjamin Pinto and Ramon Pinto; sisters Maria Lourdes Gonzales, Maria Lucia Ramirez, and Ofelia Regina Ho; sisters-in-law Mila Pinto and Joyce Pinto; brother-in-law Carlos Ramirez and Dat Ho; nieces and nephews, Alphonse, Claire, Marc, Christopher, Miguel, Carmen, Alex, Jose, Frances, Jeremy, Sarah, and Allison; and grandniece and grandnephews, AJ, Izzy, Diego and Cruz. She was predeceased by her parents Colonel Eliezer Pinto Sr. and Francisca Pinto, and by grandniece Natalia.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Prayers and Tributes to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (1414 Shawnessy Boulevard S.W.) on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

  2. To Bob and the Family: we will all miss Teresa’s spunk. Even though she has retired from CP for a number of years, I can still hear her voice especially her laughter. Her gentleness marks her character. It was interesting to know of her love of music, and I certainly had a surprise of her appreciation of opera…this is where a patient husband is defined! I can imagine how she has passed her great nature onto you all, forming a part of your character.
