Dad passed away peacefully on Monday, February 18, 2008 at the age of 90 years.

Dad was born in the county of Victoria near Peterborough, ON where he grew up. He was the eldest of seven children born to Austin and Mary Doran. After completing Normal School at age eighteen, Dad started forty-four years of employment with Canadian General Electric in 1936. Dad loved his family and friends especially sharing time with them on many camping trips and holidays. Dad was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church for almost sixty years where he was very involved in the Parish, including the church renovation and founding of the Parish credit union. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Chinook Trailer Club.

Dad is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jean (Ross) Mortlock, Teri Henry, Pat (Dave) Fryer, Lorraine Kerssens (Fred, deceased), and his son, Mike (Gail Roberts) Doran. He will be greatly missed by his thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dad was predeceased in1998 by Nellie, his loving wife of fifty-four years and by his infant son John in 1950.
