DORAN – Norma

November 18, 1926 – July 30, 2011

Norma Doran beloved wife of the late Charles Edward “Ted” Doran of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the age of 84 years.

Norma was born in Toronto, ON to Fay and Norman McGowan on November 18, 1926.  In 1945, she met and married Ted, a sailor in the Royal Canadian Navy.  They lived in Toronto and then moved to Ballantrae, ON with their daughter Pat.  When Pat and her husband Larry moved to Calgary, they followed a few years later and enjoyed their little house at Lake Sundance.  Soon after, her brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Sheelagh moved to Calgary from Toronto.  Norma and Ted enjoyed having them close by and played many games of cards with them. When Ted passed away, Norma was one of the first to move into Sundance on the Green where she enjoyed working on committees and meeting new people.  She knew everyone there and made many friends. Norma was saddened when she finally had to give up her condo at Sundance on the Green.

Norma is survived by her daughter Pat (Larry) Moxham; grandchildren Charlie (Carmen), Andrew, Leah; and two great grandchildren Cade and Rylie.  She is also survived by her sister Audrey and brother Ralph (Sheelagh).

Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.  Forward condolences through
