Judy was born and raised on the Siksika Nation. In her younger years she attended the St. Joseph Residential School and Bragg Creek School, where she was an avid sports athlete. Judy then went on to work for the Siksika Board of Education in the capacity of Teacher’s Aide and Student Counselor for numerous years. Her passion was working with children, and she always encouraged the importance of education, which she carried on through her years while she was with us. Her love for children was a special gift that she carried; she was a Gramma and Mother to all whom she adored. Judy lived a peaceful, simple life, enjoying the comforts of her home, where she spent many quiet moments in prayer. Judy was faithful to her faith and belief in Apistotoki (Jesus/Creator) whom she called on for strength and guidance during her time with us. Judy will be remembered for her outgoing personality, kind and gentle nature, and most of all, her sense of humor and her silly stories. Judy took great joy from the simple things in life and nothing was more precious to her than her family and friends. She was very much a devoted hockey Mom and continually supported her grandchildren in their hockey games. Judy was the eldest of the Catface and Jacobs families and will be deeply missed by all.
Judy was deeply loved by her relatives, with the families of Catface, Cutters, Solways, Bear Robes, Turning Robes, Strong Mans, McMasters, Backfats, Scalplocks, Daychiefs, Bad Eagles, Jacobs, Little Chiefs; in-laws Running Rabbits, Duck Chiefs, St.Goddards, Rides at the Door, Big Snakes, Breakers, Franks, Springchiefs, Weaselheads, Youngs.
