I was shocked and saddened to hear of Deb’s passing. She was a dear sweet woman. We learned so much from her, during her time in Wetaskiwin. I recall the blessing of working on a drama production. In the midst of unorthodox circumstances, she was willing to support me in this endeavor and did it cheerfully and with energy.

No question, life on this earth is less than it could have been now that she is gone. We were all better for knowing her and loving her.

To Colin and Joel, my heart goes out to you and I will be praying for you as you adjust to life without Mom.
To David, I also pray for God’s peace to be abundant and palpable for you in the coming days as you adjust to continuing your journey without your love.

  17. I knew Debra (Debbie to us then), as a lovely woman who was part of the dancing, singing troop ‘Crucial Moves’ back in the late ’80s in Melbourne, Australia. I shot a video for them, and shared a lot of time with them. Debbie was always a perfectionist, but had a very soft heart, and was never anything but sweet natured in all the time I knew her. The Lord will be enjoying her company right now, even though those of us left here will miss her, we will have to wait our turn to see her again.

  21. Jocelyn & Michael Kidd :

Lots of people have come into my life over the years. So many very important……some incredibly special. Deb had a unique place – still does. Our times together were limited but always amazing and memorable. In Canberra, Melbourne and Adelaide, Canmore and Edmonton. Then there were the hours upon hours spent talking on the phone until cancer robbed us of that. Thankfully we still had email. And at the end, loving thoughts and treasured memories.
David I am comforted by knowing she was loved by you and she knew it! And she loved you with every ounce of her being. She told me! As you, with Deb’s family and friends, gather together today, I trust that amidst the grief, the celebration of her life that is planned, brings a smile to everyone’s face, if only fleetingly, as we remember Deb’s laugh, and life and love. Hugs from Australia – where she left her mark!

Loving someone never tells us how long we can hold their hand, or touch their face, or hear them laugh out loud. We are never told how much time on earth we can spend together. When you love someone however, you get to choose how long they own your heart.

Debra, please keep David’s heart close.. I Know he will guard yours..
