Diduck, Barbara V. (nee Siega)

August 18, 1925 – July 4, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Diduck on July 4, 2012 at the age of 86 years.

Barb was born on August 18, 1925 in Kimberley, B.C. to Irene and Joseph Siega. She grew up there with her brother Leo. Barb met Mike Diduck in her high school years and they were married on December 28, 1945. Mike worked with the Federal Immigration Department which led the family to many different places of residence including Kingsgate, Cardston, Brandon, Calgary and Lethbridge. During this time, they were blessed with four sons who Barb adored and lived for. Barb eventually started her twenty-five year career in Cardston, Alta. with the Royal Bank, retiring in the mid 80’s. Her next career was being a wonderful grandma to her two grandsons. During this time she took up oil painting and became an accomplished artist. Another passion was card playing, including bridge and cribbage, which she played almost daily. Later in life, Barb moved to Rocky Ridge Manor, then to Staywell Manor as her health deteriorated. Barb made many friends at both residences because of her love of people and great sense of humor. While at Rocky Ridge she met her special friend, Herb Corbett, who became a constant companion until her passing.

Barbara is survived by her three sons, Steve (Kathleen) of Maple Ridge, B.C., Dan (Cindy) and Dave of Calgary and two grandsons, Jeffrey and Robert also of Calgary. She is also survived by her brother Leo (Grace) Siega, niece Sandy and nephew John. Barb was predeceased by her loving husband Mike in 1981 and her youngest son Michael in 2009.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com .
