DICKSON, W.K. (Bill)

September 16, 1935 – June 14, 2012

W. K. (Bill) Dickson beloved husband of Janice of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the age of 76 years.

Bill was born on September 16, 1935 in Weyburn, Saskatchewan to Bert and Helen Dickson. He was the youngest of four in his family: Bob, Keith, and Doris. On July 4, 1956, Bill married Janice Hjorth. They had two children, Kevin (Beverly) Dickson and Nola (Steve) Baillargeon; and three grandchildren, Rory Dickson, Rhett (Katie) Dickson and Zoe Baillargeon.

Bill worked in the oil and gas industry for over fifty years in Saskatchewan, California and Alberta. He made many friends and acquaintances during his career. Bill had been involved in consulting, directorships, and private business ownerships (Boss Lubricants).

Bill spent many years volunteering for various charitable organizations in the capacity as director, most notably for the Bethany Care Society, Augustana University College in Camrose, Alberta and the Calgary Fiddlers Association. During this time, Bill was instrumental in setting up charitable foundations.

Bill’s first priority was always the health and well-being of his family, friends and community. He willingly gave to others and was grateful for all that he had.

A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at Lutheran Church Of The Cross (10620 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
