Shannon Dorlene Dergousoff, beloved wife of Bert of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the age of 53 years.

Shannon was born in Penticton, British Columbia on March 21, 1956. She is survived by her loving husband, Bert; daughter, Melissa and son Tyler; sister, Natalia (Willie) Morasch; brother, Bob Vanjoff; nephews, Justin, Adam and Ryan; step-sister, Heidi and step-brother, Parys; step-mother, Ingrid as well as several extended family members.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle NW) on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Cochrane Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

    Often times when people pass away, visitors can be heard to say, “She was one of the nicest people I have ever met.” In this case it is absolutely fitting to say that, Shannon was one of the nicest people I have ever met. We will miss her dearly. To Melissa and Tyler, Shannon and Bert have done a great job with you two, as I have seen you develop into two fine individuals of intellect, conscience and promise and I know is she very proud of you both.     Natalia and Robert – please accept my condolences on the passing of Shannon. You were a close family and will miss your sister dearly. I have a lot of wonderful memories growing up with you guys. I remember the sleepovers at your place and the wonderful hospitality. Your mom always welcomed us in your home. I will never forget the girls grad stag night at your place.

    We are so deeply saddened to hear of Shannon’s passing. Please know that our prayers are with you as you manage your life without her.

    Some of my most wonderful memories are of spending time at work back in the Dome Petroleum days with Shannon as well as many social gatherings. I always felt that we enjoyed a connection back when we were starting out in our first homes at the same time as well as starting our young families. I will always be grateful and thankful to have known Shannon and to have spent such memorable and wonderful times with her.

    It was with great remorse that I heard of Shannon’s passing. Although time spent with you and Shannon over the years was limited, it was always a good and memorable time. I remember Shannon as a good hearted, confident, and kind person always eager to help others. She will surely live on eternally as one of God’s soldiers.
