den Hartog, Susan (Sue) Amy

den Hartog, Susan (Sue) Amy
March 4, 1954 – Calgary, AB
November 22, 2014 – Calgary, AB

On Saturday, November 22, I said goodbye to my wife and best friend Susan (Sue) den Hartog who passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully at the Foothills Hospital.

Sue was born and raised in Calgary. We met in December 1975 and after her request, we went on our first date in June 1976. We shared our lives ever since. Sue loved to travel, play golf, entertained and could cook with the best of them. Her warm smile and love of life touched everyone she ever met.

She is survived by me, Blake den Hartog and her extended family and friends.

I would like to thank the Foothills Hospital staff in the ICU pod C for their kindness and compassion.

Honouring Sue’s last request, there will be no Funeral or Memorial. She always said “I don’t want a big fuss”. A gathering of her extended family and friends will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 – 14th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 Telephone: (403) 264-5549, www.heartandstroke.ca. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

Good bye my love, until we meet again.

In living memory of Sue den Hartog, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH, Telephone: 403-276-2296.

Offer Condolence for the family of den Hartog, Susan (Sue) Amy

Dear Blake, Just to let you know how much I’ll miss Sue, her warm smile and lovely sense of humour. It was always a brighter day when I could walk into Sobeys and see her busy with her flowers, and I’d know I’d have her company for a few hours. She was a very beautiful soul.

  14. Blake….. I apologize for being so behind times in offering my deepest condolences on your loss of Sue. I just found out, somewhat by accident, about her passing and I’m still trying accept that this beautiful lady is gone. I’m not really sure if you remember me but Sue and I worked together, for a number of years, at Westmin Resources in the Purchasing Dept. Sue was one of the most considerate and kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I can’t portray enough, Blake, how truly, truly sorry I am for your loss.
