With deep sadness the family of Carmela Del Guercio announce her passing on Sunday March 17, 2013 at the age of 84 years at the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, AB.
Carmela was born in Faiano, SA, Italy and immigrated to Canada and married Nicola Del Guercio in 1962. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, cooking, travelling and gardening. Mom gave of herself but always expected little in return.
Carmela is survived by her loving husband Nicola Del Guercio; daughters Sonia Del Guercio, Annette (Bob) Vance and Rosa (Henry) Del Guercio; brothers Generoso (Lina) and Salvatore Monte; grandchildren Jenessa Vance, Rosario (Marisa) Frustaci, Rosina (Danijel) Slisko and Nicholas Frustaci; great-grandchildren; Gian Luca and Alessio Frustaci; Anton and Maximo Slisko.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (Corner of 4th Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) on Wednesday March 20, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum. The family would like to extend their profound gratitude to the caring staff at the Bethany Care Center.
