DEEHAN, Gloria Jean Catherine (nee Hooley)

June 8, 1949 – January 13, 2012

Gloria Deehan of Calgary, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the age of 62 years.

Gloria was born and raised in Windsor, ON and moved to Calgary in 1980. Gloria had operated a day care out of her home, was employed at the Silver Springs Golf Course, was a Teacher’s Aid and possessed a compassionate and caring attitude. During Mike’s illness, Gloria cared for him for the past four years. Gloria always enjoyed camping, fishing and was an avid outdoors person as well as spending time with her friends and family.

Gloria is survived by her son Shawn (Corrine) Deehan, two sisters Margaret (Moe) Nagtegaal and Bonnie (Mike) Kelly, a brother Wayne (Sue) Hooley, a sister-in-law Debbie Hooley, Mike’s sister and brothers, Sally (Paul) Gignac, Gary (Elaine) Deehan, Roy (Donna) Deehan, Dougal Deehan, John (Jan) Deehan, Tom (Caroline) Deehan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Mike Deehan, her parents Bud and Sylvia Hooley and a brother Lance Hooley.

    Shawn, Corinne and all Gloria’s family -I was shocked and saddened to hear of Gloria’s sudden passing. I worked with
    Gloria at Milton Williams School and she was truly a remarkable person. We shared many happy memories and much laughter. We had kept in touch over the years and every Christmas she was present in our home through her ceramic creation “Emily’s Nut House.” I will surely miss her. My prayers are with you now.
