Harvey Deary, beloved husband of Patricia Deary of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the age of 83 years, with his family by his side.

Harvey was born in Eston, SK on September 25, 1930. He grew up in Winnipeg, MB before moving to Calgary in his early 20’s. Harvey and Patricia were married on May 20, 1989. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion for fifty-years. Harvey loved camping, boating and watching sports.

Besides his loving wife Patricia, Harvey is survived by his children, Charlene and Gordon Hay of Edmonton, AB, Kim and Lawrence Overes of Kimberly, BC, Bonnie and Mark Collins of Chestermere, AB, Keith and Lisa Deary, John and Judy Morcom, Wayne and Joanne Morcom, all of Calgary, Brian Morcom of Port Dover, ON, and Karen Morcom of Edmonton; his eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Harvey is also survived by his brother Austin Deary and his sister Hazel Walker.

A Celebration of Harvey’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Harvey’s honour may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Rd.
