Surrounded by his family, Tom passed away at his home after an extended illness. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Joanne. He was a proud father of Susan and Shelley, and a loving grandfather to Emma, Ryan, and Liam. Tom will also be deeply missed by his siblings, Peter (Peg) de Boer, Alice (Bert) Hagens, Klaas (Ann) de Boer, Martha (Bob) Jens, John (Dianne) de Boer, Al (Harriet) de Boer, Theresa (John) Van Dop and Ed (Teresa) de Boer, by his in-laws, Jack (Carol) Heerema, Sjanie Heerema, and Pieter (Trudy) Heerema, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Tom loved his family, and will be sorely missed. He was a carpenter but also talented in other trades. He loved tinkering, and was happiest working in his garage on old cars and his antique tractor.
