Maureen Dorothy Dawood (nee Ogle) beloved wife of Ishie of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2014 at the age of 72 years.
Maureen was born on February 4, 1942 in Durban, South Africa. She immigrated to Canada with her husband Ishie in April 1971. Maureen was a member of St. Gerard’s Parish. She was an active volunteer for numerous foundations including cancer, heart and stroke and diabetes. In her spare time, she loved reading, gardening, listening to music and was a diehard Calgary Flames fan to the end.
She lived life for her family and will be greatly missed.
Besides her loving husband Ishie of fifty-three years, Maureen is survived by seven children and their spouses, Jennifer and Trevor, Michael, Cheryl and Gerry, Neville and Nicole, Allan and Iman, Mishelle and Rick, and Anthony, all of Alberta; fifteen grandchildren, little sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Eddy Meth of South Africa; and numerous extended family members. She was predeceased by her parents Ethel and Maxwell Ogle, baby sister Cecilia and brother Kilwee.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church (10 Prestwick Dr. S.E.) on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church (10 Prestwick Dr. S.E.) on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
