Thomas Davis, beloved husband of Judi Davis of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the age of 58 years.
Tom was born in Canora, SK, but spent most of his young life in Flin Flon, MB, playing hockey and swimming in the many lakes there. When he moved to Calgary to further his education he became involved in hockey, rugby, baseball, golf, and any other activity that got him out and about. After completing his degree he began his career as a geological technician at Amoco Canada, then moved onto Canadian Hunter, at which time he was accepted as a member of A.P.E.G.G.A. He also worked at Blue Range, Glacier Ridge, Burlington, and most recently Conoco Phillips. Tom was a well respected member of the oil patch. Besides his family, his joys in life were The Philadelphia Flyers, playing golf with his buddies, and spending time with his grandson Joe, especially at Gull Lake.
He has left a huge hole in the hearts of his wife of thirty-three years Judi; his daughter Lisa, her husband Robert, and their son Joseph of England; sons, Michael and Sean of Calgary; mother Olga of Edmonton; sister Sheila (Arnie) of Spruce Grove, AB, Shauna of Edmonton, AB; brothers, Bob (Bev) of Flin Flon, Grant (Bonnie) of Red Deer, AB, and sister-in-law Jean (Vern) of Kimberley, BC; brother-in-law Alan (Diane) of Boynton Beach, FL; all his beloved nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; special grandson Michael Alexander of Calgary; his very special friends Wayne and Gail Hartwick of Gull Lake, AB; and the many more true and special friends that he seemed to surround himself with. Tom was predeceased by his father Hugh.
Tom’s philosophy was that the “glass was always half full” and he was always up for a joke or prank, or a laugh of any kind. As one good friend and co-worker said “We will miss his Tomisms!”. Every one of us will miss his humour, his generosity and his fair and patient nature.
“Don’t cry because it’s over
Smile because it happened”
