DAVIS, Clarence Alexander

October 23, 1919 – April 16, 2013

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Clarence (Casey) Davis on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at the age of 93 years. Clarence was born at Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, coming to Alberta in 1929, later settling at Butte. In 1954 he and Joan married; they treasured 59 years together.

Clarence worked for the Federal Government in Calgary and Edmonton until his retirement. Clarence and Joan retired to Calgary and enjoyed many trips; traveling often to the mountains, and throughout Canada. They pursued their passion for Alberta and family history through the Southern Alberta Pioneers and their Descendants, and the Historical Society of Alberta. Clarence was a member of King George Lodge for 48 years.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Joan, son Glenn, daughter Ann (Stephen), and grandchildren Madison and Alex.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Scarboro United Church (134 Scarboro Avenue S.W.) on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the charity of your choice.

In living memory of Clarence Davis, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

  2. I am a friend of Madison’s. I never met Mr. Davis, but reading that he was married for 59 years tells me that he was an honest and faithful man who worked hard his entire life. You can’t really ask a man to do much more. He is an inspiration to all young men like me.

My prayers go out to him and his family!
