Davidson-Wahler, Christina (nee Hosick)
July 12th 1925 – Cookstown, N. Ireland
December 28th 2013 – Calgary, Canada

Chris was the beloved wife of two good men, Andrew Lenstrum Davidson and in later years, Simon John Wahler.

Chris is survived by her children and stepchildren Jack Davidson (June), Christine Nalder (Scott), Laurel Franklin (Kevin), Ken Wahler, her 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, her siblings Dorothy Lavery and Billy Hosick, and by many cherished nieces and nephews in N. Ireland.

At age 88 Chris was predeceased by many of her family including her two husbands, brothers Harry Gibson and John Hosick, her aunt “Our Rita” who was really more like a sister to her, and her nephew Eddie Lavery.

Our “Belle of Belfast City”, Chris taught all her grandchildren the songs of her native Belfast and gave them a love of all things Irish while respecting and appreciating the blessings of living in Canada. Her strong Irish accent was recognised by all and understood by many. She lived openly, loved easily and had an infectious joy for life.

Brenda and Larry’s deepest condolences to the family of Chris. She was a joy to be with, Brenda and I always enjoyed her spark, I think that the word spark is the best way to describe her, she always brought life to a room. She will be missed by us.
Just for your information, Brenda and I had the pleasure of the company with her late husband , Uncle John who was the brother of Brenda’s mother Helen Sauter.

  2. Linda McCormick (nee Stewart) :

My deepest sincere condolences to Chris’s immediate and extended family. I know she cared deeply about you all. Chris & I lost touch again unfortunately – I have just been re reading all her letters & emails. She was a very interesting lady … Then I came across this obit and I have shed a lot of tears tonight. I remember Chris & Andy coming to visit my mum Ena Stewart back in the 1960’s in Belfast – researching the family tree – and it was they who sparked my interest in genealogy. Love to all my family in Canada. I am so sorry for your loss x
