Patty was one of our favourite people of all time. She was kind and gracious and we will miss her as our neighbour forever. We learned how to name dogs from she and Jerry and in fact she gave us our first dog as a wedding present. Guinness and Jameson, Kavanagh, Walsh and Neuman and Carol and I will miss her without end.

  4. Jackie Walsh :

It was always my honor to be included in a golf foursome with Patti at The Springs. Although she was far superior in her level, she was always more than gracious–and, also, a great teacher. I admired her courage in the past years coping with her illness. Her outlook during this time was one that would always be admired. My prayers are with her family at this difficult time. 5. Clyde, Becky, and your families. I was saddened to hear about your mother’s passing. She was such an elegant and gracious lady. It is hard for me to remember a time before the D’arcys and Finns became such close friends. I will always cherish the memories of your mother and the many special occasions we spent together.

Unfortunately I am in California now and will not be back in Calgary in time to celebrate your mother’s life with you on Monday. She will however, be in my thoughts and prayers.

    My sincere condolences,

    John Finn

  7. Genia and Mary Boulware :

Becky, Clyde and Family…My Mother and I just tonight learned about Patti…Even tho Mom is in an extended care home and has memory problems she immediately remembered her good buddy and close friend Patti and all the wonderful get togethers and golf games they managed before failing health. Esp. after they both lost the most amazing husbands they became closer. Our families were so much a part of each others lives in business and socially in their early days in Calgary (being from Texas and Louisiana) and later in the Desert. I know my Father and Jerry respected each other and worked hard together on the Stampede Board, in business and on Calgary’s Transportation Board along with many others.
I Know Mom and Mrs. D. up until this last year and due to failing health for both loved their lunches and so did I with her good friend and care giver, Joan, who is so special and loving!
For me growing up, your family and our close neighbours, the Finns, Appaloosa horse breeders were the reason I became a horse person when Mr. D., who was also a very well respected breeder of Quarter Horses in Alberta, Percy Smith and my Dad worked a deal to make my first horse happen… little Appaloosa, Lolly Pop, who Becky had cherished as a young girl and then I. They told me Jerry had traded a water trove to Finn for her…not sure how true that story was but I love it.
I became an Animal Health Tech much due to the help/reference of this great family and on that road worked with a local Vet and Claude as a student Vet to achieve this career.
I and my family are forever grateful for being a part of the amazing times and lives of Jerry and Patti.
I am out of town and hope to make the Memorial but if not please accept my Mother’s and my best and love to you all!
    Mary Boulware

  9. To Clyde, Becky, and your families–
Patti and I were friends for more than 50 years. Although I left Calgary long ago, we stayed in touch, and her bright humor remained a part of my life. We spoke together last on our shared birthday this June. I wanted you to know how deeply I regret your loss and how greatly I will miss her, too.
